Problems With Fake Ipod

The trouble with fake iPods is that there are not many fixes to the common problems you encounter on fake iPods. The only problems I know how to fix are the ones that happened to my fake iPod but every iPod is different and people usually can't be bother to try fix them. Your best bet is to post on a forum where fake iPod have been discussed before and hope someone has had the same problem and fixed it. Sometimes there is a brand name hidden somewhere on the iPod and searching that name might just give you the answer.

Software error prove very hard to fix and many people can't fix it even when there is a solution.

Who Makes Fake Ipods?

People from China, Vietnam, Cambodia pretty much the whole of South-East Asia make fake iPods. There is no official maker of them and its not just one person in a garage. Many fake iPods are sold each year and they get more advanced with each iPod model that comes out. As soon as the iTouch had a camera so did the fakes.

The thing is nobody really knows the answer to this question and nobody cares at the moment about finding the makers. They only want to stop people from selling them.

Short Answer: Usually - not good.
Long Answer:
There will often be one or two games on most fake iPod models but they can be in other languages and they may not work. You can't new games as there is no app store on fake iPods. The games that were on mine were in other languages and really sucked. I can't believe some people think fake iPods should be able to play decent games. Get a real console if you want to have fun.

Short Answer: Yes - But it is usually not worth it on most iPod models.

The general interface on fake iPods is bad and reading an eBook is no exception. You have to convert them to .txt file on some of them and reading them is painfully annoying. Is The Audio Quality Good On Fake iPods?

The audio quality on fake iPods is standard - China standard. The audio will definitely not sound like it is out of a Sony Walkman or a real iPod but it will be satisfactory for most. It all really depends on what fake iPod you get. Some fake iPods are far better than others.

How To Improve Audio Quality On Fake iPods

  • Buy some better earphones - The ones that come with the fake iPod really suck. The ones that came with mine only allowed me to hear the music but no singing. Just pay $10usd and get some decent ones.
  • Get the best bit rate - Geeks will know what I'm talking about. The bit rate is the quality of the music. The higher the bit rate the better the sound and the higher the file size. The standard bit rate for most mp3 players is 128k because it gets decent audio quality without too much space. Go through your library and re-download or rip any music files that have higher or lower bit rate that 128k.

Can Fake iPods Play Video?

In short answer yes. But the real question you want to be asking yourself is "do you really need to watch video on your fake iPod". The video quality on most fake iPods isn't very good but even if you have struck gold and the video playback is good you might have to convert your files to a crazy unknown format so that they will work on your fake iPod.
If you have a touch screen fake iPod there might be a company name somewhere on the device. Check out their website and help sections if such exist and play around putting videos onto your fake iPod.

When I was using my fake iPod I would convert my files to down to a smaller resolution before changing the videos into some weird almost unknown format before uploading them manually onto my device. The video playback was so bad that I just didn't bother after that and so I have forgotten the format.

Good luck uploading video to your fake iPod in the future!
